Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, so many of us will be dining together for our special night. Nothing brings together a fine cuisine and romantic company together like an aromatic red wine. I love red wine, and it is usually my pick for any meal; but which meals go best with red wine?
What do I eat with red wine?
Many wine drinkers would like to know what goes best with red wine. Which foods will bring out the aromatic notes, depth and structure of a distinctive wine such as Crimson and Clover. Crimson and Clover is a new release of Concannon and is a blend of the first and fifth conservancy portfolio from grapes grown in the Livermore Vineyards. Because this wine is a blend of Pitite Sarah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Zinfindel is would pair famously with a black pepper-crusted filet mignon with goat cheese or grilled artichoke with tarragon aioli. I did not have any of these handy when I sampled the 2009 Crimson and Clover red wine, but it did go very well with my New Year’s brisket and cabbage. The saltiness of the meat and the sweetness of the cabbage was a perfect marriage to the clove aroma left on the palate.
