Summertime is the big time of year for family vacations and blogging conferences. It is when all the kids are off of school, and moms have a chance to get away to the biggest blogging conference for women (and some men)! However, this is also the biggest time of year for a lot of families to go on vacation as well. This year, I am going to Chicago for a blogging conference then the day I get back, I am leaving for a week at the beach. Wow! Right?! I need to organize my packing efforts so I can have a smooth transition. What I am hoping to do is pack the same outfits over again as well as mix and match a few things!
For the conference, I want to look my best. I will be meeting all kinds of brands and awesome bloggers face to face. Some of them I will be meeting for the first time, and I will want to make a good impression. When I am at the beach, I will be in a lot of pictures I will have to look back on for years to come. I want to make sure that I am coordinated, wrinkle-free and that I bring each part of my outfit!
Bring all the necessary parts to your outfits. That seems kind of silly to most people, but I cannot even tell you how many times I have travelled and forgot the simplest things. Simple but important things like all of my underwear, or the bra I needed to wear with a certain shirt to keep the straps from showing, or matching socks, or knee high socks for my boots to keep me from getting blisters. Now I put each outfit from head to toe all in one pile, and I double check it to make sure I have everything. Sometimes I will even create my look on Polyvore to make sure it all looks good.
Try on your complete outfit. Refer back to the first point. Also, it is important to make sure your outfit still fits you. When is the last time you wore it? Does it have snags? Trust me. I know from experience it is not a good thing when your pants don’t fit and you are 600 miles from home, at a busy conference, with no stores or time to shop. Making due is no fun, and being comfortable is important! If you have heels in mind for an outfit, don’t forget blister shields or band-aids! If you are walking all day with the kids in vacation or walking all day at a conference, you will need them.
Dress comfortably. You can find a great style that is comfortable, yet still looks good; just like you can find affordable fashion while looking like you spent a fortune. I can find both when I shop at Sears. Sears fashion is often practical and is so easy to coordinate. I can usually find outfits that will work for more than one occasion and even mix and match. If you shop on Sears.com they suggest outfits for you. You can see what I am talking about if you check out my Sears style Google Plus album. You can find more outfits, styling tips and connect with searsStyle on their social media accounts: @searsStyle and on Facebook. If you are not already a ShopYourWay member, you should be! On this shopping adventure alone, I saved $10.71, got free shipping and earned 1007 rewards points to spend next time. I am also a personal shopper on ShopYourWay!
