I have waited to tell my kids about charity and giving to others until they were old enough to understand the concept. We have talked about philanthropy since they were 5 or 6 and have donated to local shelters for years. With our Girl Scout troop, we asked people to buy cookies that would be donated to a nearby shelter and then the girls delivered them. I want my kids to understand that we are blessed and have opportunities and amenities that others do not. I do not want my kids to ever take for granted what they have and when they begin acting in that vein, we remind them other kids would be happy to take whatever the object is. And yes, we have taken things away and donated them to the kids at the shelter on more than one occasion. One way we have found to help others is to buy products through fair trade or directly through charitable causes. I recently discovered Give Bracelets, which is an organization who are directly helping children in need who live in Indonesia.
Beautiful Handmade Bracelets With A Cause
I have found that when a foundation or organization like Give Bracelets sells a product to help others, you get some amazing products. With Give Bracelets, you not only get a huge selection of bracelets to choose from, you are feeding a child with each bracelet you purchase. I love that you can get beautiful handmade bracelets with a cause from Give Bracelets. I addition to providing meals for kids in Indonesia, the bracelet artisans themselves will tell you their lives have changed since being part of this project. The Balinese people have art intertwined with their lives and have had so for decades. Some of the talented artisans Give Bracelets work with span more than 20 years. The result is some of the most beautiful and intricate pieces of jewelry I have ever seen.
I was sent a variety of bracelets from Give Jewelry and I am so happy to share them with those close to me. I chose each bracelet with a specific person in mind and plan to give them on a birthday or as a Christmas gift. I love to pay it forward with gifts like these bracelets in hopes the recipient will buy from that foundation and encourage others to do so as well. The way to spread the awareness of companies like this is by word of mouth, which is the strongest form of advdrtising one could hope for. I have an orange and white bracelet for my BFF who is a huge UT Vols fan and a green, white and yellow bracelet for Caitlin because they are the colors of her new high school. I got a leather bracelet for my oldest daughter’s boyfriend and for Chelsea, I chose a gorgeous purple beaded wrap bracelet. You can choose from friendship, team colors, and bracelets for men, for cancer awareness and so many others. All of the bracelets are incredibly affordable and would make such a lovely gift and remember, each bracelet purchased will feed one child.
