The Best US National Parks For Hiking Trips

We have a long list of beautiful national parks across the nation, all of which are exciting to explore. The Gates of the Arctic National Park, for example, offers a nice balance between gorgeous landscape, interesting hiking trails, and some challenges along the way. If you just want to enjoy a light hiking trip and want to make the most out of the experience, then these parks we are about to discuss in this article are the ones to visit.

The Grand Canyon National Park

The Grand Canyon National Park is a classic destination for all kinds of hikers. The area offers so many different hiking trails to explore, from a simple day hiking path to a trail that would take up to 14 days to complete. What’s interesting about the Grand Canyon is the fact that you can always find a trail to try regardless of your level of experience and expertise.

If you’re looking for a day hiking experience in the Grand Canyon National Park, the South Rim, and North Rim are equally interesting to explore. South Rim offers a spectacular view that you can enjoy as you take a walk on one of the shorter paths, while the North Rim is famous for great photo spots and the Bright Angel Point Trail.

Speaking of the Bright Angel Point Trail, this short trail of just 0.5 miles can be completed in just 30 minutes. This is a great trail to try if you’re traveling with children since the trail ends around the lodging area.

Zion National Park

The second national park on our list is the Zion National Park. While most of the hiking trails you will find here are meant for more experienced hikers, there are actually some very interesting day hiking paths to explore as well. The Zion Narrows day hiking trail is definitely one that you must try at least once in a lifetime, especially if you really enjoy a moderately challenging hike.

Zion National Park offers a more relaxing hiking vacation. The hiking trails in Zion Canyon are full of gorgeous scenery, pools and rock formations and some of the most spectacular landscapes you will find in this country.

Accommodation and other amenities are also widely available in Zion. To make it even better, the short hikes such as Weeping Rock and Emerald Pools Trail are considered family-friendly.

Yellowstone National Park

Last, but certainly not least, we have some of the most challenging short hikes you can explore at the Yellowstone National Park. Unpredictable wildlife and changing weather conditions are among the things you need to prepare for when planning a trip to this national park. It doesn’t stop there either. The hiking trails have a higher level of difficulty, too.

However, Yellowstone is an amazing place. The scenery is immensely beautiful and there is no shortage of activities to try. It is best to explore this place during spring since the weather is perfect and some of the park roads are open for hiking. All you have to do now is make a plan for an amazing hiking trip to Yellowstone – or other national parks we’ve covered in this article.
