I was in California recently for the Iron Man 3 premier and what a memorable time we had. This trip was like a whirlwind of some of the most fun and interesting activities and sites. There was a pretty large group of us and we were treated like like the Mommy Blogger royalty that we are! It was fun dressing up for the red carpet, seeing the lifelike wax figures of so many celebrities and meeting actual celebrities. The movie premier was held at the famous El Capitan theater in Hollywood and it is breathtaking.
The moment you walk into this monumental building, you feel transported back in time as they have done such an incredible job on its restoration. Some of the most famous names in Hollywood back in it’s heyday in the 1920’s-50’s could be seen at premiers at this theater. Once you have seen a movie at the El Capitan, you may be ready for a refreshment and/or some souvenir shopping. Well, you are in luck then because right next to the theater itself is Disney’s Soda Fountain and Studio Store.
I happened to have my birthday fall right smack in the midst of my birthday while I was on my trip. I must admit, if I could not be with my family on my birthday, my blogger buddies s are a great group to celebrate with! How thrilling it was to walk into our scheduled breakfast which was hosted in and by the Disney Soda Fountain and Studio Store. This venue is a very popular one for holding birthday parties as as with all of the Disney movies, parks and other Disney fun, it is for young and old-er alike.
When I walked in, I could not believe my name and birthday greeting was on the marquee! I felt just like a star! We had a delicious buffet of breakfast items that were just perfect for our crowd! I even got a Mickey Mouse waffle with a candle to start off the day of my birth!
I must admit I felt no guilt whatsoever as I gobbled up poor old Mickey’s head, but not before blowing out my candle. Of course I cannot tell you what my wish was, but with such a great trip, many came true! Thanks Marshall for surprising me with my very own Mickey party! Don’t think I didn’t notice the over the hill colors either 🙂
I can only imagine how much fun a kid would have at the Disney Soda Fountain for their birthday. This place is just perfect for making their special day one of the most memorable they will probably every have. You can call ahead and reserve the date (do so pretty far in advance if you can) and they will take care of the rest.
The room will be decorated in balloons and movie posters and you will get a host to serve your food and drinks. There will be a personalized birthday cake, an ice cream sundae for each guest from the Disney Soda Fountain, paper party goods and unlimited soft drinks. In the 2nd party package, you can also have a hot dog or 2 slices of pizza for each guest.
Once your party has completed, you are invited to head over to the exclusive Studio Store for some shopping. If you can imagine how much fun it is to shop at your local Disney Store and then amp it up a million times, you have The Studio Store! This place is absolutely amazing and there is so much cool stuff to buy. I knew I wanted to get the boys a treat and it was hard to choose with all of the offerings. There are toys, collectibles, candy and only from The Studio Store can you get their Limited Edition Pins. These pins are very popular in the Disney community and folks wait breathlessly for new pins to be released. For instance, this month the pin is the Finding Nemo from Disney-Pixar Finding Nemo. Nemo and Jacques adorn this limited edition, May hinged pin from the Windows to the Magic pin collection. This pin captures a scene from the film when Nemo looks up at his crustacean friend, Jacques, while is hiding to keep clean.
