Easy Way to Learn Foreign Language for Kids
As part of our home school curriculum, I was looking for a program that was an easy way to learn foreign language for kids. I took Spanish in college but what little I did retain was not going to be enough to teach the kids. We all learn differently and tapping into that is key to learning and retaining that knowledge. I am a tactile and kinesthetic learning, which means I learn best with hands on and interactive learning. Caitlin is an auditory learner, which means she does well with listening while she is learning. Henry is the same as I am, so if I was going to teach him a foreign language, I needed to find something that was fun and easy to learn. The less “school like” the program I use, the better he learns. I have used the Schoolhouse Rock series for Language Arts, Social Studies and History. I wanted to find something like that series for our Spanish lessons.
I came across Little Pim while searching for a foreign language program that would be fun and interesting for us. Created in 2006 by Julia Pimsleur Lavine, the award winning Little Pim program is teaching children foreign languages worldwide. With a background in filmmaking, teaching and motherhood, Julia had a great resume with which to develop Little Pim. Julia’s father, Dr. Paul Pimsleur is the creator of one of the most popular and critically acclaimed audio teaching foreign language methods for adults. What makes Little Pim unique is the Entertainment immersion method, which enables the child to become completely enveloped in this proven teaching method.
Become Bilingual in Spanish
My goal for my children, as well as myself, was to become bilingual in Spanish. I feel blessed to have been offered one of the introductory packages in Spanish from Little Pim. The package includes a Little Pim DVD, Book, and Panda Plush Toy in a see-through tote bag. What separates Little Pim from other programs is that Little Pim uses a unique and effective program that combines animation, repetition and real kids. The animation on the DVD is so fun and after a few minutes, you feel you are among friends! The addition of the book and Panda Pim, rounds out the total immersion program. Within a few minutes of watching the kids were repeating what they learned and at bedtime, we read through the book, with Henry giving Panda Pim a fierce hug. After just a few days, the kids and I were using what we learned in the house and grocery store. Not only is this program completely fun and effective, it is also priced so families can afford to learn a new language.
Little Pim is offering one lucky winner an introductory package in either Spanish or French (valued at $39.95)
ALittle Pim is also offering Makobi Scribe readers 15% off by using promo code “PimMommy”
