As much fun as the holidays were, it is a relief to put them behind me. All that running around buying gifts, attending parties and entertaining in the home can be super stressful. Another issue with the holidays is all that food you are not used to eating can cause problems. People will gain an average of 5-8 pounds from Thanksgiving to New Years. Not only does that get your clothes to fitting a bit tighter, but it can cause problems with your gut as well. Because we eat more foods during the holidays, our body can have an adverse reaction because we are not used to all that fatty and rich food. In order to get back on track, here are a few easy to follow tips to get your health back on track:
3 Ways You Can Be Healthier This Year
- Portion Control: Google the words “portion control” and you will see several images as well as descriptions on how to properly portion control your food. You can either use measuring cups and scales or “eyeball” it using a guide you Googled.
- Get Active: If you just get up and move for only 30 minutes, 3-5 days a week, you can get the weight you gained off in no time. You do not need to run a marathon or do hours of aerobics. Walking is perfectly acceptable.
- Add Fruits and Veggies: If you can add fruits and veggie to even one meal a day, you are off to a great start. Remember, baby steps will be what makes a lasting impact. If you are not a big veggie lover, consider adding green juices, like those from Evolution Fresh.
It can be daunting to try and get in the amount of fruits and vegetables the USDA recommends. Studies show people want to make this addition but either do not like a lot of fruits and veggies or do not want to put forth the time and effort it takes. I will admit, cutting and prepping half the night is not my preferred way of spending an evening. I would rather pick up one of the yummy cold-pressed green juices like Sweet Greens and Lemon or Essential Greens with Lime from Evolution Fresh. Believe it or not, each bottle has more than a pound of green vegetables. So say goodbye to the hassle and expendse of getting yr RDA of those healthy greens and pick up a bottle of your favorite Evolution Fresh cold-pressed and high pressure processed (HPP) green juice. Each 8 ounce serving has 10 grams of sugar or less with no added flavors or sweeteners.
Evolution Fresh is available at more than 6,000 grocery retailers and 7,200 Starbucks stores, making them one of the most widely available cold-pressed green juice in the nation. The high quality ingredients include coconut water from the Philippines, ginger from Peru, mangos and pineapples from Mexico and turmeric from Hawaii. With the New Year upon us, Evolution Fresh is challenging Americans to rev up their green engines and get into the green routine by drinking one green juice a day for three days with their #3DaystoGreen Movement. If you take the pledge and enter the 3 Days to Green sweepstakes, you could win one month of free Evolution Fresh cold-pressed juice, workout wear, fitness trackers and more.
