It is hard to believe the kids are almost out of school and summer is almost officially here! When I think of summer, one of the things I think of is Father’s Day. This is the day we get to celebrate that guy who taught us to throw a ball, fretted over us at our first school dance and will have our hearts always! Although dad would certainly appreciate the thought behind getting him yet another tie for Father’s Day, why not get him something he will really love? My dad was a huge fan of television and we spent a lot of evenings watching favorite shows together when I was younger. There are so many great shows available on HBO but not all of our dads may have an HBO subscription. If that is your dad, you can share a ton of great HBO television shows, movies, documentaries and more with #HBOatBestBuy! With titles available from HBO at Best Buy like the wildly popular new show “True Detective”, “Game of Thrones” and “True Blood”, you can get dad something he can really sink his teeth into!
From 6/8 to 6/14, all the HBO titles are on sale at Best Buy, both online and in stores. One of the newer and very popular HBO series, is the highly talked about “True Detective” which releases on June 10, and is among the great gift ideas for dad for Father’s Day on June 15th. In this gripping and intense series, the lives of two detectives, Rust Cohle and Martin Hart, become entangled during a 17-year hunt for a serial killer in Louisiana. The series stars Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, and Michelle Monaghan, who are each incredibly mesmerizing in their roles. One of the most interesting parts of the show for me is to see the transformation of Matthew McConaughey’s character Rust Cohle from his early days to the present time of the show. Rust goes from a clean cut and dedicated detective to a reclusive and disheveled shadow of a man. The first season will be selling for $60 at Best Buy, so be sure to grab a copy for dad and one for yourself!
