One the greatest challenges we face as parents is getting our kids to eat right. We’ve had it easy up until lately. We made all of our own baby food when our child was small, so naturally she was more accepting of different foods as she got older. The things we made for her were like things you would find in a fancy bistro. Butternut squash with blueberries and chicken and broccoli were two the favorites. August is kids eat right month. - Keep A Schedule: From my personal experience, the most common phrase out of my kids mouth is “I’m Hungry”. It’s the first thing I hear in the morning and one of the last things I hear at bedtime. Keeping them on a schedule is crucial. It’s good for them. They will eat non stop if you let them, we all know where that leads.
- Limit The Options: While keeping the meals healthy, it’s important to keep the snacks as healthy as possible as well. Only offer the really bad snacks that they always want during special occasions. This establishes a pattern that will follow them through life.
- Make The Good Stuff Fun & Delicious: The easiest way to kids to eat right is to get them involved and make the whole experience fun and delicious.
