It’s only June but it’s already in the 90’s down here in sunny Florida. I have a feeling that this is going to be a long summer, and an even longer pregnancy! I have already banned pants from my closet. Anything with 3/4 or longer sleeves is off limits. I have been on the hunt for something comfortable and light, and I think that I have found it! I was given the opportunity to try the Karina Dresses Penelope dress. Now, I’ve owned other Karina Dresses. They are all comfortable. There is something about a Penelope that just makes it the perfect maternity dress!

Why Penelope Makes The Perfect Maternity Dress:

  • Pleated Waistline: The pleats in this waistline are fantastic! They hug my growing baby bump in all of the right places, but lay flat where they should.
  • Front and Back Gathers: As with any Karina dress, you can just tell that Karina loves to make women look beautiful! The gathers at the front at back give you just a little extra to help to conceal any lumps and bumps that might be underneath your dress.
  • Pockets: Who doesn’t love a dress with pockets? Being a mommy of a 3 year old, I don’t have enough hands. I can throw my phone and car key in my pocket and run into the store with Aidan and I don’t need to worry about carrying too much at once.
  • Perfect Fit Sleeves: These sleeves are another sign that Karina loves us women! As with all of my Karina Dresses, these sleeves hide my armpit flub and help balance my shoulders with the rest of my body.

I got my Penelope dress in a size larger than my usual, so I know that this dress is going to last me throughout my pregnancy and beyond. I am in love with the Cantaloupe Lilac Squares print. I can definitely see myself wearing this dress to my baby shower later this year! The Penelope dress comes in sizes X/S (fits sizes 0-4), S/M (fits sizes 6-10), M/L (fits sizes 12-14) and X/L (fits sizes 18-20). I am typically a size M/L, but I ordered this dress in an X/L. The fit is larger on me but it doesn’t look frumpy or baggy at all.
