Nature’s Sleep Memory Foam Mattress Review St. Cloud LUXE

When our Memory foam mattress arrived

When my memory foam mattress from Nature’s Sleep arrived, I was yet again amazed at how such a large item could fit into such a tiny box. In order to show the size comparison (and to store it while I cleared out the spare bedroom) I set my mattress on end. See how it is actually hitting the chandelier. The mattress inside that small box expanded right before my very eyes to the same size mattress that is propped on it’s end.

I had ordered the Nature’s Sleep 12″ St. Cloud LUXE Mattress and was beyond excited to open up to see my mattress unravel before my eyes. The reason why it can be packed so tightly is because Nature’s Sleep has the memory foam mattresses Vacpaked. This is kind of like sucking all of the air out of the memory foam to condense the mattress to a real solid state. Trust me when I tell you even though this box looks small, it weighed a ton. Almost 100 pounds. You know they say good things come in small packages, and Nature’s Sleep uses the VackPak method to reduce the company’s carbon footprint which reduces the consumers as well.

In a matter of minutes, the memory foam mattress expanded to it’s full shape and size. Actually it happened faster than I thought and I was unprepared to get the video footage that I wanted. When I was at the Nature’s Sleep headquarters recently, I learned a little about how these mattress work and what to expect from mine.  I knew that it would be a little wrinkly until it came to its full form (which usually takes 24-hours). Below the pictures show the “cotton lettering” immediately after reflation and then yet again 24-hours later.

You can see the small striations in the fabric that work themselves out over a short time.

One of the first things I noticed about the Nature’s Sleep brand was the attention to the little things. The outside cover of this mattress is so soft and velvety, I did not even want to put sheets on it. The outside edging is also adorned with a braided black and grey cord with a matching grey micro suede bottom base. The antimicrobial cover is easily removable and can be laundered easily. You would be surprised at how many people would not buy a mattress that did not match their decor or wasn’t pretty enough even though you never see it. It is nice to see how Nature’s Sleep even caters to the unseen details. The picture below was taken moments after the St. Cloud mattress from Nature’s Sleep was unpacked, so it has not fully formed; but you can still see the care in the creation.

The St. Cloud LUXE Matress is just like sleeping on a cloud. It is Nature’s Sleep most luxurious mattress in their collection. It has a mutli layered design with a score of a 9 on the Firm/Plush scale. The top layer is actually comprised of two 2″ layers of memory foam. The top layer is a plush vitex memory foam while the second layer is the highest density visco memory foam. The combination of these two layers are what creates the magic cradle which supports your body. Following the top dual-layed support system is a 2″ of pressure relieving form (very important) and a 6″ high density core.

Of course, my boys had to assist me with the review and gave the bed a complete kid-testing. In the above picture, Mason and Jakobi are demonstrating how memory foam works. See with a regular spring-filled mattress, your body pushes down while the springs push up causing hot spots or pressure points. When you are sleeping, you body goes numb from these pressure points and signals to your brain for you to turn to relieve the pressure and restart the blood flow. With a memory foam mattress, your body doe snot have resistance and is cradled in support. This eventually means you will turn less at night which will bring you a higher quality of sleep. A higher quality of sleep means that you can handle two kids horse playing while you are trying to do a proper photo shoot.

The whole family loves the bed, including the husband who likes a very firm mattress. The interesting thing about memory foam is that when you first lay on it, some people do not know if they like it or not. It seems strange and new and a little unfamiliar. Your body doesn’t have to do it’s familiar adjustments to get comfortable and you kind of just sink in, but then you feel as if you are on a firm, supportive surface.

As you can see the dog really enjoys the feel of the memory foam mattress which is what prompted the founder of Nature’s Sleep to invent the memory foam pet bed line. Now every member of your family can have their very own Nature’s Sleep experience. **Note this is not a family bed. My kids sleep in their own room – well they did. Now that we have a new mattress, it is funny how when it gets late at night the whole family is in our bed!

This is the boys after I told them to go to bed. No not my bed, your bed. Silly boys.

St. Cloud

Now while I wish my home was as serene as the one pictured above, I consider myself blessed with moments like these – Peace & Quiet. Mason is demonstrating how easy it is to drift off to sleep. I find that I am asleep in mere seconds whereas previously I would toss and turn like a chicken on a rotisserie trying to find the sweet spot. Then once I was all comfy, nestled down and finally in REM, my body would be signaled to turn from pressure points. I would wake up at the merest sound and was up and down all night.

Since sleeping on my memory foam mattress from Nature’s Sleep for near a week now, I have noticed decreased aches and pains, a sound night’s sleep and far less waking up. The first night Noah and I slept on our new mattress we both slept through his alarm which has NEVER happened. I do not remember waking up one time. Noah was not sure he would like it because at first impression, it feels awfully soft; but amazingly so, it’s support is firm in nature. A Nature’s Sleep indeed! 1. That is something our kids do too when we tell them to go to bed! Although, our mattress is no where near this nice. Actually, it’s the opposite! 🙂

  2. This is one of my fave reviews since the pictures of the boys and dog are so fun. I almost forgot about the weight of a mattress and when you said it weighed 100 pounds, just about my weight, I knew I needed help with getting it in the house and unpacking. I like also the fact you talked about pressure points and I think this is a good investment to relieve the aches and pains when sleeping.

  3. I love the braiding and the color difference on the mattress – like you said even though it isn’t usually seen it’s nice that it is attractive. great review – thanks

  4. This is a great review! I love how you described how it was package and how you unfolded it. I kept hearing it was packaged small and was starting to get worried it would not fit my box spring! Thank you again for your detail. You have such handsome boys

  5. Sometimes my legs and arms fall asleep at night and in the morning the painful pins and needles to get them awake. This would solve my problem and help with circulation I bet.

  6. That looks like a fabulous mattress! I’ve always wanted to have one…they look super-soft and comfortable!!

  7. Hm, I did not know that pressure points are what cause you to wake up or turn in bed. I would sure like to experience that mattress for myself.

  8. i was intrigued by how it came in the mail… and expanded, and then was so comfortable afterwards. very nice pictures i like the cotton pictures how after 24 hours the wrinkles come out, like magic! i ,would love to have one , maybe i could finally sleep thanks

  9. I love all your photos…your little ones are precious. I am in the market for a mattress topper for my daughters bed and for our guest room. After reading your review, I will definitely look into purchasing either toppers or mattresses from Nature’s Sleep!

  10. It sounds heavenly, I have alot of the same aches and pains and am u and down all night. I would love to win something like this , or the lottery.. and buy one.. 😉

  11. The Mattress I own now is super thin and it’s on the floor, I don’t even have a box spring! It’s got tons of broken springs and holes in it. I’m soooo ready for a new bed. I wake up everyday in pain and have stiffness! I might have to look into Nature’s Sleep!
