Open Season movies are one of my kids’ favorites of all time. They were very excited to see their old friends again! In this fourth installment, those adorable creatures that we all know and love are back for more adventure! Scary stories told around a camp fire spark the imaginations of Elliot, Boog, and all of their friends.

Poor, domesticated Boog is not the bravest of bears. When he heard that campfire story about the Wailing Wompus Werewolf, he was planning to chicken out on their much anticipated annual summer camping trip. Well, his friends were definitely having none of that nonsense, so they decided to work together to scare the fear out of Boog. This was a good opportunity for me to talk to them about things they are afraid of and how it’s not nice to scare people on purpose, even if you have good intentions behind your actions.

Well, as you can imagine, Boog did not enjoy this at all! At this point, even the local humans believed that there was a werewolf running loose in Timberline national Forest, so they decided to open hunting season back up to encourage people to capture the werewolf. Now, poor Boog, Elliot, and Mr. Weenie are facing their fears of both the elusive werewolf and Hunter Shaw all at the same time. I took this opportunity to speak to my boys about rumors and misunderstanding and how things can easily snowball out of control. I love the teaching and parenting opportunities that arise when we watch movies together and discuss the characters and plot points along the way. Check out the preview below. Watching this together as a family, a great time was had by all.

This installment in the already beloved series, is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the original movie debut. It’s hard to believe it has been that long already. It also includes great bonus features, including 3 featurettes and many fun blooper reels! Don’t miss it!
