Recycled Materials for the Home

My family has been recycling for a while now, but I was interested in finding recycled materials for the home. I decided if we were doing our part to go green, we should try to incorporate that concept in our home. I have re-purposed a lot of things from thrift stores but I knew there was more I could do than just repainting a picture frame I found for a few dollars. My oldest daughter ChooChoo is an artist and she also plays the ukulele and sings. I wanted to find her something unique and personal for Christmas last year. I found an an online store that re-purposed credit cards into guitar picks or earrings. I thought that was such a clever idea on how to recycle a common item into something completely different.
Founded in 2006, BuyGreen has become the only online company that offers such a huge selection of green items for the home and commercial use. You can shop at BuyGreen with confidence that their products meet their strict Green Standards and are handled by a top-notch customer service department. Not only can you find a vast number of Eco-friendly items but you can also find some really cool items that are made from some unique items.

Recycled Vinyl Records

While looking through the crazy big inventory at BuyGreen, I found an artist that recycles vinyl records and makes them into works of art. Eye Pop Art was started in 2003 by Christine Claringbold and her items have been shown in galleries in the US, the UK and Canada. Christine looks for materials she can reclaim and re-purpose into amazing pieces. BuyGreen asked me to review a product of my choice and I immediately thought of Eye Pop Art. Christine makes vibrantly colored and visually arresting mandala bowls from old vinyl records. I chose the orange flip mandala record bowl which retails for $59.00. At first glance you absolutely cannot tell the bowl is actually a vinyl record until you turn it over. It is the coolest bowl I have ever seen and I was lucky enough to have one of Christine’s art in my home.

Thank you BuyGreen for offering one lucky winner a Eye Pop Art bowl in pink or purple.
