The island cuisine in the Florida Keys is worth taking the time to explore! One should take their time in order to get the full benefit of the breathtaking scenery and culinary delights only a land so close to the ocean could provide. When I stayed at Islamoada, one of the upper Florida Keys, I was fortune enough to dine at several restaurants worth writing about. Islamorada is known as having the best restaurants in the Keys. There are so many packed into such a tight space, it is no wonder the annual competition at the Annual ‘Taste of Islamorada is such a huge hit.. You can find quite the variety for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even snacks, cocktails and desserts. A really fun item on several restaurant’s menus are “cook your catch” where they will literally cook up the fresh fish you had caught that day!
Jaws Raw Bar at Postcard Inn
My accommodations were at The Postcard Inn Beach Resort & Marina, which is where the Jaws Raw Bar is located Right on the ocean, you can get a dozen succulent oysters, plump, sweet shrimp or a savory bite of fish dip. You can listen to live entertainment or just to the waves lapping at the shore. The casual atmosphere and my favorite Key Lime cocktails just might entice you to never leave.

Every Islamorada visit should begin and end with a sampling of seafood favorites.
Have you ever had a meal you wished would never end? At Lazy Days, you will find Keys-style dishes prepared by Chef Lupe Ledesma which will leave you wishing you had 2 stomachs. Every morsel of food on my plate was delicious. I sampled conch ceviche, pan seared tuna and fell in love with the lazy conch, a tenderized Bohomion Queen Conch then encrusted with Ponko breod crumbs, and a key lime butter sauce with tomatoes and scallions. However my favorite dish was the Jalapeno Encrusted Yellow Tail. Yes, it was every bit as good as the menu promised!

Green Turtle Inn
I just love how the best places to eat breakfast are connected to a place to lay your head. The Green Turtle Inn is an Islamorada landmark. The moment you walk in the door, the many aromas will make the choice of what to eat a difficult one. Shrimp and grits, hashbrown casserole and Bimini waffles
