It is so interesting to me how the family dynamics have changed over the past 50 or so years. It is hard to imagine that the Cleaver family was not an out of the ordinary family in the 50’s and 60’s. I am so glad women are not wearing high heels to do housework in anymore! The days where the man earned the money to care for his family and mom stayed home are not the norm any longer. I know a lot of families that have the mom working outside of the home full time and the dad stays home and takes care of the house and the kids. I have been fortunate to have been able to stay home with my kids for the past 10 while my husband worked. When he was laid off of his well paying job for almost 3 years, things turned Mr. Mom pretty quickly. Once we got the diagnosis of my sons autism, we both decided to do whatever it took to have at least one of us at home at all times. Now that he is working again, his schedule has allowed him to be home 5 days a week, which is great. This year for Father’s Day, I wanted to give him something that he really wanted or needed. He has been complaining about the beat up coffee maker we have had for the past few years. I decided a nice coffee maker was the perfect gift for Father’s Day, so now I just needed to decide on which brand. When I saw that Frigidaire makes small appliances, and they carried an excellent coffee maker, I was so excited!
Father’s Day Gift Ideas
Virtually all of our appliances are from Frigidaire and I remember having them in our home when I was growing up. There is great comfort in knowing a company that has been around for as long as Frigidaire is still going strong. I have wanted to get my husband a new coffee maker for a while now but it kept slipping my mind. When the kids and I were trying to figure out what to get him for Father’s Day, he was in the kitchen muttering about the coffee maker we have. Our nice coffee maker that we had for several years gave up and went kaput. I sent my husband out to get another one and he came home with a tiny coffee maker that only brews 4 cups at a time. That came in handy when I had a house full of coffee drinkers at Christmas! I must admit it was funny to hear him complaining when he was the one who bought the dumb thing in the first place.
The Professional Thermal Coffee Maker from Frigidaire is simply amazing! I love the sleek design and the stainless steel body and handle on the carafe. The LCD display is easy to read and the coffee maker itself is easy as pie to set up. The coffee maker comes with a reusable filter and with the coffee strength selector, you are in charge of how you want your coffee brewed. The carafe holds 10 cups and with the automatic shut-off, I do not worry about forgetting to turn it off myself. This is one good looking coffee maker as well! It blends in so well with our decor and I know Chris is going to love it.
