While we were in Kissimmee visiting several of the local attractions, we stayed at the Westgate Vacation Villas, which is one of 7 Westgate Resorts in the Orlando area.  The Westgate Resorts are a place where you can stay while on vacation that is full of amenities for the whole family to enjoy.  The room includes a king size bed as well as a queen sleeper sofa in the living area where you will find a large flat screen TV and DVD player.  (below)

The kitchen comes fully equipped with a fridge, a microwave, toaster and coffee maker.  The bathroom was nicely decorated, packed full of towels (yay!) and was surprisingly roomy. They even provided starter packs for washing dishes!

The grounds of the resort are impeccably kept with landscaping that looks like it has probably won a ton of awards!  The location we stayed at includes 14, count them, 14 heated swimming pools and hot tubs and wading pools for the little guppies.  There is marina where you can spend a lazy afternoon kayaking or burning calories on the paddle boats.  The Westgate Resorts also offer laundry and dry cleaning services, an activities program, a game room and even a movie theater!  For the athletes in the group, you can play basketball, volleyball, shuffleboard or tennis as well as play 18 holes on the miniature golf course.  When you get hungry you can eat at Sid’s Bistro, Joe’s Marketplace & Deli, NYC style pizza at Cordovano Joe’s, or at the new Drafts Sports Bar & Grill.   The Hershey’s Ice Cream Shop will satisfy your sweet tooth and if you prefer to eat in your room, you can visit the onsite market and grab the fixings for a casual meal while watching the big screen TV.  If you need help planning your visits to the local attractions, you can visit the attractions ticket desk where you can get great discounted tickets.  The complimentary attraction transportation saves you the headache of driving in an unfamiliar city and parking at the parks. If you prefer to tool about the city like a true tourist, you can rent a motorized scooter!  The resort has security guards and front desk staff who are on the premises 24 hours a day.  You can visit the business center and use the wireless internet if you must do a bit of work while you are vacationing.  If you travel with your furry babies, Westgate Resorts are pet friendly.

The Westgate Resort chain started in 1982 and employees over 6,500.  The first resort to open was the Westgate Vacation Villas which has 16 units.  The company has grown so much in the last 30 years that they now offer over 100,000 guestrooms at 28 resort locations including Florida, Las Vegas, Virginia and Gatlinburg, Tn.  You can find a Westgate resort nearby local attractions, casinos and even Broadway shows as well as sunny beaches and majestic mountains for hiking or skiing.  You can probably find a Westgate Resort nearby your vacation destination with accommodations that range from a studio efficiency to a spacious 4 bedroom villa to fit every budget.  Don’t forget to consider Westgate Resorts for your next business conference, wedding, family reunion or student group trip.  On a philanthropic note, you may be interested in learning of the ways in which Westgate Resorts gives back to their community.   In 2001, the Westgate Resorts started a foundation that gives away more than 2 million dollars a year to various causes and charities nearby where their employees live.  Many of the charitable focus is on improving the circumstances of the women, children, families and the elderly in the communities near their resort locations.
