It is hard to believe it has been 75 years since we met Snow White, the first Disney princess. When Snow White made her appearance on the big screen, audiences everywhere fell in love. From her beautiful voice to her kind heart and generosity, Snow White captured hearts across the country. Hearts broke when audiences thought Snow White was dead and people cheered when that kiss brought her back to us. Since that time, the Princess movies in order were:
- Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs
- Sleeping Beauty
- The Little Mermaid
- Beauty And The Beast
- The Princess And The Frog
Which Disney Princess Would You Be?
Audiences met Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty in the 1950’s and they reigned for almost 40 years until audiences met Princess Ariel in The Little Mermaid. From the moment Ariel and her flowing red hair appeared on the big screen, a renewed vigor for the heroines from Disney was firmly planted. In the next 10 years, the largest number of princesses were introduced in the shortest amount of time. It seems we moved from the the beautiful, kind and demur princess to an equally beautiful and kind but feistier princess who stood up to adversity and won. If you could choose just one, which Disney princess would you be? Would you do anything for love, be brave enough to become a prisoner to save your father or be clever enough to use your hair to escape a devious caregiver? Would you go to battle to protect your family and the people in your land or defy your protective father and sneak off to see what life on the other side of the castle walls was like? Regardless the choice, there is a Disney princess hidden in all of us!
